- coconut oil
- grapefruit essential oil

Why use these ingredients?
Coffee grounds are an excellent natural exfoliant for the body because their slightly abrasive grains remain gentle on the skin. They therefore help to rid it of dead cells without irritating it. In addition, this underestimated residue from the preparation of coffee contains antioxidants and vitamins good for the epidermis, but also caffeine known to boost blood microcirculation, and therefore help fight against cellulite. It therefore has everything to invigorate and beautify the skin, and leave it soft and smooth. Small well-being bonus: its gourmet coffee scent is also energizing.
Coconut oil is rich in saturated fatty acids (like lauric acid). It therefore reveals particularly interesting nourishing virtues to hydrate your body quickly and well in stride, and thus compensate for the small drying effects of exfoliation. Its coconut scent is ideal for a 100% gourmet treatment. Finally, in this scrub, grapefruit essential oil is an asset for beautiful skin and anti-orange peel skin because it is both draining, astringent (it tightens pores) and lipolytic, that is to say that it it increases the ability of fat cells to destock the fat they contain.
Good to know before starting the recipe
Coconut oil has the particularity of solidifying naturally as soon as the ambient temperature is below approximately 24°C. It is therefore possible that it is in solid form if it is cold, that it has the texture of a soft paste if it is warmer but not yet enough for it to liquefy, or that it is already liquid if it is hot. If its texture remains flexible enough, it is possible to put it as it is in the bowl because it will liquefy under the effect of the mixture. But if it is very hard, do not hesitate to heat it over low heat in a saucepan so that you can create your body scrub easily.

Why use these ingredients?
Brown sugar, also called cane sugar or brown sugar, is one of the most used ingredients in the formulas of body and face exfoliants. And it's not for nothing because it is extremely effective in effortlessly exfoliating the skin and ridding it of all its impurities. Thanks to its larger grains than those of white sugar, it is more effective than the latter. Yet it is still gentle and non-irritating to the skin. Even sensitive, fragile and reactive skin can benefit from its exfoliating properties without risking overheating. Inexpensive, it is also a clever ingredient for getting homemade care at a lower cost. Monoi, on the other hand, comes from the maceration of fresh tiare flowers in coconut pulp oil. It is therefore an oil very rich in saturated fatty acids which deeply nourishes the epidermis, softens and softens the skin, and deposits a very useful protective moisturizing film on its surface. More than a nourishing oil, it is therefore an embellishing oil that gives us beautiful skin. It is therefore perfect to complement the benefits of a body scrub. As for the essential oil of ylang-ylang, it is purifying in addition to offering a voluptuous and soothing floral fragrance. It therefore helps to purify the epidermis while helping you relax.
Good to know before starting the recipe
Like coconut oil, monoi oil changes texture depending on the outside temperature. He too tends toliquefy as soon as the temperature is close to 25°C while it begins to solidify as soon as it is below. Same process as for coconut oil, do not hesitate to heat your monoi before use. And if you don't want to bother with a saucepan, just let your monoi bottle soak in hot water to regain its oily texture.
The sugar body scrub recipe step by step
In a bowl, pour the equivalent of three tablespoons of monoi oil.
Add three to four drops of ylang-ylang essential oil to perfume this nourishing base and give it purifying properties, then mix well.
Then place the brown sugar, which you integrate into the oil at your convenience, at the rate of two to four tablespoons of brown sugar depending on whether you want to obtain a more or less grain-rich treatment.
A piece of advice on sensitive skin, limit the dose to two spoonfuls to give you the softest body scrub for your epidermis. On normal to oily skin, on the other hand, do not hesitate to put the maximum dose to obtain a slightly more abrasive paste.
In any case, mix the sugar well in the oily base to distribute the grains correctly or, on the contrary, wrap them well in oil.

Why use these ingredients?
It is well known that salt is also a very good exfoliant for the body. Himalayan pink salt is considered one of the best because it is extremely pure. It is also rich in minerals and trace elements, and has a good detoxifying power which makes it ideal for eliminating skin impurities all over the body. Sweet almond oil is a nourishing and soothing vegetable oil that leaves the skin very soft and promotes its regeneration. It is therefore the ideal accomplice of salt to protect and hydrate the skin during exfoliation, and complete its benefits on cell regeneration. As for chamomile essential oil, it reveals softening and soothing properties, perfect for comforting the skin during exfoliation.
The salt body scrub recipe step by step
In a bowl, put about two tablespoons of sweet almond oil.
Then add two to three drops of chamomile essential oil to the carrier oil and mix well to distribute the essential oil in the sweet almond oil.
To finish, add at least a large spoon of Himalayan pink salt crystals, or adapt the amount of salt to the texture you want to obtain. The more salt you add, the less liquid your scrub will be.
Mix enough to distribute the salty crystals in the sweet almond oil and obtain a homogeneous texture studded with small pink crystals.
All that remains is to erase your body with it!
Our tips for using your homemade body scrub properly
Once you have concocted a good homemade body scrub, you still have to use it wisely to offer you an effective exfoliation.
Exfoliation must be done frequently enough to allow us to have beautiful skin. Exfoliate once a week to rid the skin of dead cells and impurities without waiting for them to accumulate too much. If you don't have sensitive skin, you can even use your homemade exfoliator up to twice a week.
A poorly applied scrub does not properly exfoliate the skin. It is therefore important to adopt a good gesture in the shower. In order to properly remove dead skin and purify your pores, distribute your homemade body scrub on damp skin by making small circular movements with the palms of your hands. Pay particular attention to the driest and roughest areas of skin such as the knees, elbows and heels of the feet to get rid of calluses. Do not hesitate, either, to insist on areas of the body prone to cellulite (thighs, buttocks, arms) to make your body exfoliant a real ally against orange peel skin. To erase the whole body, generally count about ten minutes. And above all, do not forget to rinse your scrub thoroughly with clear water.
Exfoliating your skin regularly and adopting the right gestures is good. Thinking about moisturizing it after the exfoliation is better! The skin always needs comforting care after being exfoliated. Body milk with a light texture that quickly penetrates the epidermis, a nourishing cream that replenishes the skin's lipids to make it more resistant or a comforting balm that envelops the skin in a protective veil when it is fragile, you have thebar of choice!
